Adding vocational jobs to your classroom gives your students responsibility and allows them to generalize previously taught skills. Vocational jobs enable our students to learn various skills that will be useful now and in the future. These skills are crucial to our daily lives, and as teachers, we can incorporate them into the classroom. Fold t-shirts
Students use a t-shirt folding board to fold t-shirts easily.
Stocking
Set up different areas of the classroom for students to stock items, such as:
- Vending snacks/drinks
- Toothbrushes
- Seed packets
- Pens/pencils
- Grocery Items
- Gift cards
- Library books
Table Setting
Create a placemat and have students match the items to the mat on the table.
Sort laundry
Create three baskets for students to separate three different colors of towels, shirts, etc.
