Is it just me or does Thomas the Tank Engine have some weird insight into the world of autism? What is it about that lovable blue face that makes some of my kids melt? They love him. Where ever the obsession with Thomas started – sadly the Tank Engine is on the no fly list in my class. I can’t justify a blue talking train for my junior high tweens. Nemo, Spongebob, Pixar, and anything Marvel Comic – I can get on board with. Some cartoons cross age spans. But anyways, I will get off my age-appropraite high horse. I still wanted to take advantage of the motivating train theme without having a Percy matching party.
Train file folders to the rescue! Still cutesy but I feel like I can justify them for my older kids a little better. I have one student who is a crazy, fast worker bee yet also seems to get sick of activities really fast. I have been working double time making tons of new activities for him. He loves this train set and surprisingly seems to have a longer attention span for these activities.
I am sure everyone has at least one train kiddo in their room! So check out these Train Themed File Folder Activities!
As always – there is a little something for everyone! Easy matching tasks to more complex pattern and alphabet activities. All easily stored in space efficient file folders! Print, assemble, laminate, and velcro! Check these out on TpT!
