Continuing on Teacher Week with Blog Hoppin’  with Therapeutic Thursday! I know we all have those days where nothing seems to go right. Sometimes I swear there is a full moon things are so off! 99.9% of the time I truly love my job but when days are bad… they are bad. Luckily these don’t happen toooo often – let’s hope 🙂 – and I’ve developed some sure fire ways to feel better once I get home!

If I still can muster up the energy (some days I can’t…) a good workout can help let out some of the frustration of the day. Lifting weights, running, or yoga help me feel more relaxed. I good kickboxing class can do the trick too – because you can punch your bad day in the face.

There are some days that have drained me so completely that the gym is just not option. On these days it is a go straight to the couch, do not pass go, do not collect $200 situation. Sometimes vegging out in front of the tv is the way to go. I prefer my tv marathons to be as mindless and unnecessary as possible – real housewives style. Such a guilty pleasure and  I know it’s stupid – but you know what? When you’ve had a really horrible day – who cares?

So my last de-stressing technique is only reserved for those truly nasty no good very bad days. Beer and french fries for dinner. I don’t know why – I’ve been doing this since my first year teaching. Sometimes I get crazy and follow it up with ice cream 🙂

How do you unwind after a stressful day?

One Response

  1. I love it. You don’t look like you drink beer and eat fries. 🙂 I have to agree mindless TV is the best.
