The Autism Helper Items I Can’t Live Without

Back to School

I blinked and before I knew it summer was over! It’s back to school season and I’m getting my classroom organized and ready for my students. As I was organizing my copies and curriculum, I realized just how much I love The Autism Helper and how much I use in my classroom. Here’s a breakdown of some of my favorite products that are amazing investments.

Curriculum

I’m absolutely in love with our leveled daily curriculums. They fill a needed gap for students by providing relevant, current curriculum that meets their needs. If you’ve ever scratched your head and wondered where to start and what to do, Leveled Daily Curriculums are the place to start. Have a non-writer? We have versions for that! These can be pricy, but worth every single penny. Grab it on sale or, better yet, ask your admin to purchase you Curriculum Access. Need help making a pitch to admin? Our team can help! We have an email template ready to go for you. Plus, you can request a quote and a demo right on our website. What’s the worst that can happen by asking?

Easy Matching Weekly Workbooks

Have students who aren’t ready for independent work yet? Me, too. I needed something engaging, something that worked on basic skills like matching and errorless tasks, and something that was easy to use. Easy Matching Weekly Workbooks are the answer. With over 15 sets to choose from, your students will never get bored and always have something engaging to do. Looking for a no-prep option? Check out the digital versions!

Leveled Daily Homework

I love a product I can copy and have done for THE ENTIRE YEAR. That’s Leveled Daily Homework. I find the level my students need, then hit print and I’m done. I love that I no longer have to spend time digging through resources to find appropriate materials. My parents love it because it’s nothing overwhelming for parents or students, just a simple and easy to implement and do. It builds independence at home and helps parents work with their children in a positive way (you can read more on homework tips for teachers and parents here). There is even a level 0.5 for students who are working on early skills like matching and tracing. Really, it’s a huge win overall.

Data Sheets

There are a million ways you can take data as a special education teacher. For my classroom, paper and pencil work best. I’ve found that with so many adults, it’s the best way to take data with fidelity. Before the school year starts, I review each IEP goal and have a plan for how I’m going to take data. I think through everything from academic skills to functional skills like toileting data. Then I put a system in place for each goal. I reach for these data sheets time and time again. There is always a data sheet already created for exactly what I need. They are by far the most printed item in my classroom.
