As the back-to-school season kicks in, I have been chatting with classroom teachers about their immediate must haves.  While everyone is still getting a routine down, there have been some common themes of need. Let’s take a peek at communication logs and easy grab-and-go learning resources that can be easily differentiated in the moment!

Home & School Communication

Effective home-to-school communication logs are essential in fostering a strong connection between teachers and families. These logs allow parents to stay informed about their child’s daily activities, progress, and any areas needing attention. I love this communication pack as it has differentiated options for both parents and teachers! I especially loved the log that parents can send to the teacher in the morning, updating them on the night before etc.  You can find this resource here.

Task Cards, Adapted Books & Weekly Matching!

Many teachers said that while they are getting to know their students, they wanted to have different levels of appropriate and engaging activities. It’s no secret that the Easy Weekly and adapted books are some of my favorites. It can be so tempting to spend what little hours you have left prepping every material you come across.  I always suggest these different types of activities because they are easily adaptable and can be used in whole group, small group and even independent work.  I love the back-to-school-themed matching task cards which are a fantastic way to engage students in learning while reinforcing key school vocabulary skills. These task cards, which feature back to school themes, provide a fun and interactive way to practice matching and categorization. They’re versatile and can be used in a variety of settings, from one-on-one sessions to group activities, making them a valuable resource in the classroom. I also must suggest the shapes books and file folders!  As you get to know your students, you can start adding more resources. Happy teaching this year! You can find them all here:
