Congrats! You did it!
Chances are, if you are reading this, you’ve purchased one of The Autism Helper’s Leveled Daily Curriculums! WOOHOO! These curriculums will change your classroom. They are so functional and easy to implement. Before you start using them, some organization and a small amount of preparation will keep things running smoothly. I currently use 9 different levels and curriculums with my students. Here’s how I keep everything organized.
Teacher Organization – Make a Master
Print EVERYTHING. This will be your master that you will make copies from. You’ll want the curriculum to be at your fingertips, so having everything printed will make it easier and ready to go when you need it. Hole punch it and put everything in a binder.
Anchor Charts
Each unit starts with anchor charts. You’ll use these while you teach that unit. Some anchor charts need to be printed in color. Rather than print everything in color, choosing just the anchor charts will save you money. Print them, then place them in page protectors in the master binder by unit. Put them in your binder. I prefer to put each unit’s anchor chart into a page protector, then put the in the mastered binder by unit so I don’t have4 to search for them. Above you’ll see some of my master binders as well as my printed anchor charts ready to go by unit.
Student Organization
Now that you are organized, let’s get our students organized. Give each student a ‘curriculum’ binder where you will keep their copies. I use one binder for all of my subjects. Buy some cheap tab dividers or even use sticky notes to separate the subjects. Keep one unit per curriculum in the student’s binder. Copy what you need from the master binder. When you are ready to teach, have students grab their binders and you’ll be ready to go.
