Leprechaun Dip! Free Recipe!!!

My students always love making Shamrock Shakes, Floats and Freezes for St. Patrick’s Day but I wanted to try out

My students always love making Shamrock Shakes, Floats and Freezes for St. Patrick’s Day but I wanted to try out a new recipe this year.  The other speech therapist I work with and I were talking about how much we love Cannoli Dip and we can up with the idea to dye the Cannoli Dip green and make it “Leprechaun Dip”.  I figured this would be perfect to make with my students.  I created both visual and written recipes for the Leprechaun dip.

I also cut the recipe in half and wrote Small Group Leprechaun Dip across the top so that you can use this recipe with groups of 4-5 students.  I sometimes do whole class lessons in a couple classrooms so I figured I would make a full recipe but for my speech sessions it often consists of 3-4 students in the group so we can use the small group recipe.  If you are interested in a free copy of this recipe please click the link –Leprechaun Dip

I like to include different kitchen utensils into my recipes and this one uses a hand mixer.  After making frosting and some other recipes this school year my students are familiar with the hand mixer so I think they will do well with this recipe.  This recipe will be great for building up vocabulary skills, following directions, sequencing, and turn taking with peers.

The recipe does need a few minutes in the refrigerator for the dip to chill and set but that is the perfect time to clean up, review the steps to make the recipe, answer questions, and set up the sugar cones and graham crackers for dipping.  You can use the larger pictures at the end to help the students re-sequence the steps to make the dip.  First ricotta cheese, second cream cheese, third powdered sugar, fourth vanilla, fifth green food color, and sixth chocolate chips.  What is more motivating to work on sequencing that cooking!  Hope your students enjoy making and eating the dip!!!

I know in the past I shared some free book pictures, visual questions, and written questions to go with the book “There Was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover” but I wanted to freshen it up a bit!  I created some new and I think improved pictures and visual questions to pair with the book.   I wanted the format to go with the other “There Was an Old Lady…” Books I have shared with everyone.  Here is a look at the new pictures.  If you would like a Free copy of this resource click the link – There Was an Old Lady – Clover

Keep working on those sequencing skills.  Use the larger book pictures to help the students re-tell the story using the visual supports.
