Jelly Bean Taste Test! – Freebie

First off – if you today is the last day before spring break – can we take a collective sigh!?! I love my job but I also love my breaks too 😉 If you are the week after Easter – I have a great activity for you to make next week fly by. Heck – do it after Easter if you want. We had so much fun – we might even do this again after break. Why not?

My kids were so pumped to do this activity this week! So was I! I have a soft spot for jelly beans. After this activity – I probably literally have a soft spot because I ate so many! I am seriously obsessed with starburst jelly beans that I finally had to restrict myself on how many I ate. So addicting!

We did a jelly bean taste test this week! It was a great way to work on adjectives, comparing/contrasting, inferencing, and answering questions. I also think tasting new food is a great sensory activity for some of our more sensitive students!

I got four types of “jelly beans” – I had to get a little creative to include a range of flavor types! I bought starburst, starburst sour, hot tamales, and chocolate eggs. Then I put small groups on a paper plate. I made little dividers with colored masking tape so they didn’t go running all over the plate!

This packet includes four pages. I wanted to work on adjectives, inferences, compare/contrast, and comprehension!
