It’s here people. You know I love my job – whole-heartedly with every bone of my body I love my job – you really need to love this field to be in it. But in the same breath of sharing my job-luvin sappiness, I also have to admit that I am ridiculously excited for winter break. It been a personal goal of my mine lately to have better work/life balance. It’s a struggle that I am sure many of you are familiar with. However, I have really realized that I am a better teacher, consultant, writer, supervisor, etc. – when I am rested and not over worked. That burnout myth can be the real deal so
I encourage you to take this break and have a break. Take some time for yourself. Take some time with your family. Buy yourself a present. Have a cocktail. Eat a cookie (or four). Relax. Reboot. You’ll be thankful in January.
