Halloween Party Planning

Categories: Curriculum Ideas | Fall

Halloween is right around the corner. Before you know it you will have a class full of sugar high little monsters (not being mean – they might be in costumes…) jumping off the walls of your classroom. While your mind might be on pinterest overload with the amount of undeniable cuteness and creativity – I thought I’d throw my hat in the ring and share my Halloween party madness from the past few years.

We do stations for our parties and this helps immensely. This adds the MUCH needed element of structure and schedules (duh – our kids need those every day – why wouldn’t they need them during party time?).

We do ooey, gooey sensory for Halloween. It is a disgusting and nasty mess and the kids love every second of it. We use red jello for blood, spaghetti dyed red for guts, spaghetti left in a colander for a brain, pistachio pudding with marshmallows for boogers, and chocolate pudding for dirt. Yuck.

We decorate pumpkins with masks, googley eyes, feathers, and pipe cleaners!

We mae spider oreos!

We also make spider hand prints. These turned out super cute!

Other Halloween Activities: October bingo with Boo Berries or toy spiders as the bingo chips, read Halloween books, play Real v. Make Believe Halloween Games, and hammering golf tees into pumpkins.

So get your venti, extra shot starbucks ready and make sure to get an extra few hours of sleep – halloween is coming and it’s gonna get ya.

  1. We had a Halloween event today and we carved pumpkins! It was a lot of fun and I still can’t believe that it actually went smoothly 🙂 I blogged about it today too if you want to check it out! https://breezyspecialed.blogspot.com/2014/10/halloween-peer-buddy-event-carving.html

I love your Halloween sensory activities!! I’ll definitely be doing something fun like this with my class this year!

  2. Fun!
