The VB-MAPP is the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program. This assessment is extremely useful for identifying areas of need for students with emerging skills and creating programming to build those skills.
The Autism Helper, Inc. has a licensing agreement with the developer of the Verbal Behavior Milestones Assessment and Placement Program (VB-MAPP), Mark L. Sundberg Ph.D., BCBA-D, to create and sell VB-MAPP-aligned products. We have two major resources related to the VB-MAPP: the VB-MAPP Assessment Kit and the VB-MAPP Task Cards.
The VB-MAPP Assessment Kit
If you already utilize the VB-MAPP, you know that this assessment can provide invaluable information on what skills your learner needs to focus on. However, if you regularly use the VB-MAPP you also know that giving that assessment can be extremely time consuming and overwhelming. Half of the battle for giving this assessment is finding all of the materials to test the various skills.
Our VB-MAPP Assessment Kit will take away that overwhelm and allow you to focus on effectively giving the assessment. Our Assessment Kit includes all necessary contrived items (flashcards, tasks, etc.). These materials are set up in a super organized way making it very easy to find each testing material item when you need it. There is nothing worse than fumbling through materials while your student is ready to go. With the assessment kit, everything is color coded. Ready to test Tact 7-M? No problem those materials are right at your fingertips!

The VB-MAPP Task Cards
Now, once you give the VB-MAPP and finally have specific guidelines on what to work on with your student the big question is – what do I do now? We got you! We created a massive set of aligned task cards to build skills identified in the VB-MAPP. We covered all of the milestone skills in addition to all of the supporting skills from the task analysis. These cards are all specifically aligned and labeled with the VB-MAPP task making it easy to know which tasks to work on.

Which task card sets should I get?
The task card sets are massive! We get it. Let us help you figure out which task card sets you should start with. This is going to depend on the level of your students or clients. If you work with a range of skill sets and typically have students in all 3 levels, I would highly suggest getting the bundle of all 3 levels. This is an investment but will cover absolutely every skill within Levels 1, 2, and 3. You may not need to get them all prepped immediately but they will be there when you need them. If you typically have students mostly in Level 2 or mostly in Level 3, start off with either a few sets from that level or get the level bundle.
What if I am new to the VB-MAPP?
Yay! We are excited you are interested in this great assessment. Firstly, I recommend purchasing the VB-MAPP protocol program which was developed by Mark L. Sundberg Ph.D., BCBA-D. This program explains how to give the assessment. Once you have the VB-MAPP protocol I recommend starting with our Assessment Kit. Once you give the assessment a few times, you will have a better idea of which task cards to get.
Can I use the task cards even if I don’t use the VB-MAPP?
Absolutely! These task cards cover a wide range of types or early language skills and build in a systematic way. These would be great for direct instruction in a preschool, speech session, or ABA session.
