File folder activities are my jam. They are easy to make, easy to store, and can be used to work on such a wide range of concepts. I have a stash of file folder activities in almost every center in my classroom. We use file folders to teach new concepts but also to work on previously mastered skills. File folder activities are my saving grace for those pesky few minutes before you transition. Your activity is finished but you need to buy time for 3 and a half minutes. Transition early throws everything off. Don’t even think of letting that kiddo sit there with nothing to do. That is a sure fire way to have behavior problems coming out of your ears. File folder activities to the rescue – keeping those hands busy!
These File Folder Activities for Advanced Sorting are some of my favorite! They are a bit more complex so it’s perfect to challenge my kiddos!
This resource includes:
– Real vs. Make Believe
– Buildings vs. Vehicles
– Healthy vs. Unhealthy Food
– Hot vs. Cold Items
– Little vs. Big Items
– Breakfast vs. Dinner
– Electronics vs. School Supplies
– Winter vs. Spring Items
– Summer vs. Fall Items
– Animals that Swim vs. Animals that Fly
– Sort Items into Four Categories
Guess what? Your super speedy workers (we all have them) won’t be able to fly through these because they have to think about each piece. Priceless.
