Christmas Adapted Book!

Christmas is right around the corner and I don’t know about you but these last few weeks before break tend to DRAG! I knew to prevent this issue this year and whipped up some new goodies to keep me and my kiddos busy the last few days before our vacationpalooza. I created a holiday version of my bestseller – What? How Many? What Color? This book has been such a hit and is actually really speedy to make. I know nobody has time to be slaving over the laminator this time of year. The book will only run you 7 piece of laminating and some velcro 🙂

I made a version two a while ago but this Christmas Version takes the cake! It’s the same format as the original version but with all holiday themed vocabulary!

  1. Hi Sasha, I LOVE your adapted books. I have purchased almost every one of them and use them in my room. Can I make one suggestion? It would be nice if the sentences at the bottom followed the natural sentence color (how many, what color, what item). THis helps with beginning sentence formation. I’ve had a couple of kiddos get confused with this activity because we harp on sentence order and then they get these activities and are asked to put the words in an incorrect order. I have used it as a lesson in paying attention and following instructions rather than making sentences. Anyway, just a suggestion for future books. Again, I LOVE your books and thank you for sharing them with us!!!!!!!

  2. I completely understand, Erin! I should probably start making two versions of each book because other people have the same opinion. I have it in that order because I use to focus on question answering – so I will start with “What is it?” and student says, “hat.” Then I say, “what color is the hat?” “red” “How many hats?” I have found if the color is first then I end up saying what color is it? And often students will start with naming the item. Totally personal preference! I will start making two versions or switching it up in the future 🙂

  3. I might be bad at following directions here, but I can’t figure out why you need two blank pages. I know you bind the pages on the left and then you bind one blank page on the right (on the last page) for the the pictures. But what is the other blank one for. My assistant and I are trying to figure this one out and get it made before Christmas! haha

  4. Sorry for the confusion! I may have just added an extra blank page to attach the picture page to but that’s totally unnecessary – you can definitely just bind the page for the pictures to the last page in the book! Hope this helps 🙂
